Hope For Green Gadgets

A recent Press “green” gadgets revealed a large group of buyers gadget “not so green.” On the positive side, a significant number of enthusiasts environment gadget took a step forward.

Green Machine
We asked consumers if they feel guilty when buying “not green” gadget and found that nearly 60% of respondents felt “not guilty” for not buying “green” appliances, with 16% saying prices fake “green” . However, almost 40% said they consider “green” when purchasing equipment such as receivers from Yamaha.

Do you trust that carries the TV star?

It was found that 80% of people trust star ratings for energy, but only 36% of consumers under 25 classifications energy use to help decide what to buy, compared with 55% of people over 25 years.

Protecting the environment
Over 60% said they used to be “green”, but more than half of those who said they knew admitted that they always put this knowledge into practice.

Consumers Turning Green
In a split fifty / fifty, half of consumers want tax incentives or cash and the other half want easier recycling to help them be more “green” when it comes to gadgets.

Cash for junk gadgets, to the old CRT televisions or rebates on the new LCD TV energy efficiency could help save consumers money and energy.

Different shades of green
We are encouraged by the number of consumers who are eager to learn more about being “green” and also knew what the average ratings of energy for environmental purchasing gadgets. Unfortunately, we have seen the apathy and ignorance. But that leaves an opportunity to educate and motivate consumers.

Bottom line
It is clear that consumers get the “gadget green” message, however, in order to motivate them to put “green” action, industry and government must take measures to make recycling and reducing energy consumption easy to digest.
